The Vredestein ULTRAC CENTO is a premium class summer tyre. It offers not only excellent roadholding capabilities, but also environment friendly characteristics, and all the special ingredients that come from this tyre manufacturer's 100 years long tradition (hence, the name CENTO). The profile design work has largely been carried out by Giugiaro Design in Italy - which, naturally, also grants the tyre a very attractive aspect. The sculpted surface in between the two longitudinal grooves underlines the stylish, aerodynamic lines of the profile. In ADAC's 2010 summer tyre test, however, looks have not been considered. Nevertheless, this model has convinced the editors with its excellent performance on dry tarmac. The 1.5 rating for driving stability, and the 1.8 rating for handling properties speak for themselves.
The Vredestein ULTRAC CENTO tread structure employs a high-silica rubber compound mixture, which enables it to provide sufficient grip on wet road surfaces. This reduces braking distances in the wet, while also making the tyre more environmentally friendly by foregoing the use of HPA/PCA compounds. The directional profile pattern, displaying four longitudinal grooves, leads to good performance on wet roads by ensuring effective water dispersal, reducing the risk of hydroplaning. The SW marking present on the side of the tyre certifies the fact that this product meets European Union requirements for grip levels in the wet and rolling noise standards - noise levels are low due to the flat profile shoulder, to the benefit of comfort. At the same time, low rolling resistance leads to improved fuel economy,as noted by ADAC during its own test sessions. The Vredestein Ultrac Cento is available in sizes ranging from 16 to 18 inches for an affordable price on mytyres.co.uk. Certain tyre sizes are also offered in the RunFlat variant.
