Terrible tyre in dry winter conditions. Traction control light keep coming on and car floats around. May be ok in deep snow but lethal in normal winter. First 500 miles the worst.

Since the cold weather having the Kumho Winter tyres has made a big difference compared to the Continental Contact 5 summer tyres. This is the 1st time we have fitted Winter tyres and very impressed with the change. We have been so impressed we also purchased a set for our son and fitted on his Golf R32 One very important point though is you have to give them time to settle in, both of us found out the performance was low until at least 50 - 200miles on good roads and then the grip was excellent. To date we haven't had snow so untested but I will report back in the new year. Thoroughly recommend adopting Winter tyres in UK although this is not legislation, safety is paramount.

I have used KW27's on my Taxis for the past 2 winters. I actually ran the rear KW27's through to the next year, putting them on the front to wear them out to get the new ones on !! I had them on my ChryslerSebring and my Toyota Avensis Estate, both 2ltr diesels - only issue we had and it isn't once you know about it, is the slight oversteer when the temperature gets up a bit usually above about 8 degrees C . Today is 30th June and the KW27's are still on the back of the Sebring, great tyres as far as I am concerned and each car is doing about 1500 miles a week on them.
