Hankook Kinergy eco, available on the market since 2011, is not only a summer tyre with remarkable rolling, but is also provides a very low fuel consumption. This became possible due to a special rubber mixture which contains nano-particles of silicon. This leads to more efficient fuel consumption due to rolling resistance which is, according to the manufacturer, with 12% lower, comparing with other similar products. At the same time the braking distance on wet roads, shortens. Hankook provides exact numbers: 8% braking distance, compared to similar products. The name of Kinergy consists of Kinetic and Energy, which means "energy and movement". The Kinergy eco uses these less than a usual tyre, to reach the same performances.

A summer tyre efficient in all conditions

To keep the tyre from floating on water in rainy conditions, Hankook added three circular grooves, for which the width and position were adapted to the special needs of a wet road. Of course, this profile has convincing power even on dry roads. The length of the shoulder blocks was chosen to add a positive effect on driving characteristics - the same thing applies on the enlarged contact surface. The asymmetric profile improves the rolling comfort and reduces the noises.

The traversal grooves from the shoulder of the tyre, along with the staggered profile improve the handling of the tyre. This thing was noticed at the summer tyres test of ADAC from 2012 where Hankook Kinergy eco received very good ratings on dry road, including 1.5 for rolling stability and 1.8 for braking performance. Also the fuel consumption was very good - the tyre received the highest rating of all the tested candidates.
