For most of us, the Renault Twingo will be a familiar sight. (Over 30s will likely also remember the first generation, with its distinctive front end!) Fitted with a 54 HP petrol engine, the Twingo was snapped up by buyers on its release in 1993. The first series remained on sale for an impressive 14 years before being replaced in 2007 by the Twingo II, a car based on the same platform as its Renault counterparts Clio and Modus. The 133 HP RS version - a compact model that reached speeds of over 200km/124mph - was of particular appeal. Since then, the third generation of Twingos has emerged, combining a reduction in length with an increase in the size of the wheel base and a 70 to 90 HP engine.
