MICHELIN Alpin 7 Winter Road Tyre

  • - The MICHELIN Alpin 7 tyre, built for safety and confidence throughout the winter season
  • - New tread design for handling on snowy and wet winter roads
  • - Better braking[1] and traction[2] on snow covered roads
  • - Designed for high longevity
  • - Reduced energy consumption[3][4]

Drive with confidence during the winter with MICHELIN Alpin 7. For snow braking[1] and acceleration[2] in wintery conditions.

You can feel confident in MICHELIN Alpin 7 for winter safety, the next generation tyre for snowy and cold conditions. New directional tread design combines more sipes for better control on snow covered roads with an adapted pattern design to efficiently evacuate water[5]. Approved for snow, this 3PMSF certified tyre helps provide mobility even in winter conditions.

Delivering improved snow performance[2][6], the MICHELIN Alpin 7 outperforms the previous generation MICHELIN winter tyre by 6% in snow braking[1], while maintaining high levels of traction[2]. Compound and pattern optimisation in a new tread benefits the tyre with more sipes (grooves) than its predecessor, ensuring control when accelerating in snow.

Feel confident driving winter after winter - the MICHELIN Alpin 7 is designed for high longevity. It features a Multi-Layer Compound combined with an under tread compound and Evolving Tread Pattern, providing grooves that emerge and widen as the tyre wears, helping maintain performance.

Supporting vehicle efficiency, MICHELIN Alpin 7 offers lower consumption[3] thanks to a 9% improvement on its predecessor in rolling resistance(4). This results in reduced energy consumption[3] in thermic (petrol and petrol -hybrid) and electric vehicles.

Michelin is committed to reducing its environmental footprint and improving the energy performance of its tyres. Michelin not only aims to reduce the impact of tyres on fuel consumption, but also to increase the autonomy of electric vehicles. The reduction of CO2 emissions related to the use of its products is an integral part of the Michelin strategy, while also striving to reduce the number of tyres needed by its customers to drive the same number of miles.
Michelin helps collect used tyres in many countries in order to recycle them. The manufacturer invests in R&D to find innovative and more efficient recovery solutions. End-of-life MICHELIN tyres find their way into new products, for instance roads or sources of energy such as district heating.

(1) - snow braking - Tests conducted by UTAC, on Michelin's request in North Finland (Mellatracks), in December 2023, on dimension 205/55 R16 91H on VW Golf 8. Based on Snow braking tests with ABS (between 30 and 10 kph), comparing MICHELIN Alpin 7 (100%) versus MICHELIN Alpin 6 tyre (93.6%), performed on a new tyre.

(2) - snow acceleration - Tests conducted by UTAC, on Michelin's request in North Finland (Mellatracks), in December 2023, on dimension 205/55 R16 91H on VW Golf 8. Based on Snow acceleration tests (between 5 and 30 kph), comparing MICHELIN Alpin 7 (100%) versus MICHELIN Alpin 6 tyre (98.5%), performed on a new tyre.

(3) - energy consumption - Energy consumption means petrol for thermic and hybrid vehicles, electricity for electric vehicles.

(4) - Rolling resistance - Tests conducted on machine by UTAC CERAM, Linas-Monthlery, France, on Michelin's request, January 2024, on dimension 205/55 R16 91T, comparing MICHELIN Alpin 7 (7.444kg/t) versus MICHELIN Alpin 6 (8.238kg/t).

(5) - wet grip - New and Worn, on 205/55 R16 91H MICHELIN Alpin 7, is above the R117 European regulation wet grip threshold.

(6) - safety and mobility - MICHELIN Alpin 7 is approved for use in snow conditions (with 3PMSF marking). To receive the 3PMSF marking, tyres must meet a minimum level of safety and mobility performance on snow.
