The Porsche Cayenne is the first SUV made by the German car manufacturer. It came on the market in 2002 and is manufactured in Slovakia and Leipzig. It shares a platform with the VW Touareg and Audi Q7 - and consequently the development costs. The first generation was built until 2010 and was very successful. North America, above all, was an important market. A German sports car and that in the form of an road vehicle - that surely must work here as well. And it really did! To start with the Porsche Cayenne was available with a VR6 engine and a V8 engine with various power ranges. With the top of the range engine the SUV proverbially drinks 15 litres of fuel for 100 km. In 2007 there was a facelift and the Cayenne GTS was presented. New engines were also available, including, for the first time, a diesel engine. With the exception of the 300 bhp petrol engine all versions were equipped with the eight-speed Tiptronic S automatic as standard. In addition the boot space was larger. The Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid combined petrol and electric motors with a total power of 380 bhp. The average fuel consumption was reduced to 8.2 litres for 100 km. The Turbo S in the second Porsche Cayenne generation is the fastest production car in its class. It has 550 bhp and can accelerate to 280 km/h. The chassis, drive train and all-wheel drive ensure that the Cayenne is still trail worthy. Only the Porsche Cayenne tyres fitted ex-works don't fit into the concept.
