The Ford Fiesta has been on sale since 1976 - in the meantime the number of units manufactured has long been in the double digit millions. This has been ensured until now by seven Fiesta generations. The first product line was on the market until 1983 and was manufactured in Spain. Among others the competitors were the Renault 5,the VW Polo and the Fiat 127. The Fiesta was initially available with three and five doors as well as as a delivery van with a flat loading area. There was a choice of 4 motorization in combination with a four-speed gearbox. From the A-column on the second Fiesta generation hardly differed from its predecessor. However,there were new engines and changes to the interior. In addition a five-speed gearbox could also be fitted. In 1989 this model was replaced by a new Fiesta. Technically it was more modern and safer. The fourth generation of the Fiesta was optically drastically changed. It was available in the following trims Focus, Flair,Fun and Ghia. In 1999 the next range was introduced and was equipped, among other things, with 14 inch steel wheels as standard. The Fiesta Sport had 15 inch aluminum wheels. This model is produced in several countries, one million have already left the manufacturing lines. In 2012 Ford presented a facelift of the Fiesta which has been on sale since 2013 - with, among other things, an autogas variant. The number of air-bags ex-works was increased to seven.
