The Audi A2 MPV was on the market from 1999 till 2005. It was manufactured in Neckarsulm and was shown in a similar form as a study at the IAA in 1997. It was available in five different trims, the Advance represented the basic version. Unfortunately the A2 did not sell very well - special models such as the eye-catching “color storm” didn't help either. In 2008 there was a recall action. On the other hand the A2 proved to be a veritable “defect dwarf” and led the defect statistics in the TÜV (Technical Control Board) reports. The A2 TDI 3L was a special model with a three cylinder engine and many other features which made it a low-energy car. Among these, for example, were a start-stop automatic, a chassis with a high aluminum content and 14 inch wheels with a low rolling resistance. You can also achieve this with the right Audi A2 tyres. In addition to the Audi A2 1.2 3L TDI three other motor variants were offered, among which was a 110 bhp petrol engine. It accelerated the MPV to a top speed of over 200 km/h and still only consumed an average of five liters of fuel per 100 km. This was possible thanks to FSI direct fuel injection.
